Exhibition: Adolescent at Large

THE WAY THINGS WENT

I haven't posted in a while and I apologise sincerely. Truth is, I have been way busy and have had literally no time for myself!
So, last night was my exhibition (Adolescent at Large) and if it isn't too vain I'd like to say that it was a super neat night. Thanks to LA.VI for some really top notch music and everyone else who helped make it all possible, you did a grand job!
From now on on Crazed, a page will be solely dedicated to all my work that can be made into tangible canvas prints by order. If you would like to order something please do not hestitate to ask, just email me at jesskj@mweb.co.za.

ALSO; if you were present last night, unique limited edition t-shirts were also on sale. These are t-shirts with prints of my photographs on them. A page for that will soon follow as well for the order of those.

Have a lovely day! x.

e-peeps

// I've decided to have an exhibition of my work (photography if ya'll didn't know) about some of the pretty neat places I have been fortunate enough to go to. Includes stuff from Havana, Buenos Aires, Zanzibar, The Greek Isles and Istanbul and just any old place where I have happened to find myself in. //

So I've been speaking/typing away about my exhibition for a while now and here it is, finally, my invitation! Everyone is welcome to come and bring as many others as they want. There will be a cash bar and live music on the evening as well as a really cool draw that if you come you stand a chance of winning. Unique limited edition t-shirts will also be on sale on the evening so be sure to make it down to Stellenbosch on the 21st!
If you would like to attend and you haven't received an email invite or a Facebook event invitation please mail me at crazedshutterbugs@gmail.com to RSVP, if you do so I will also send you a map to the venue for easy-findings!

jambo brothers and the works

Heeeey,
Just got back from Zanzibar! It's starting to annoy me now how well traveled I have become... And that's not vain at all! After two weeks away from the hustle bustle of Cape Town (even though it's considered rather slow compared to Jo'burg, them Jozi's are just jealous, I'd say!) and one mammoth wait at the Nairobi International Airport I've hit the ground running, so to say, planning my upcoming exhibition on the 21st. With some internet connection here and there in Zanzibar I managed to send out a couple invites on the likes of facebook and some by word-of-mouth but, needless to say, with these types of ventures extra time and effort is always a handy trait therefore, I've probably bitten off way more than I can chew but than again, I guess that's just my style.
:)

Pictures of Zanzibar to follow soon.
Keep ye posted! OUT.

KO on the bathroom floor!

So,
I've just done my four days of job shadowing for school (at least I'll pass Matric Life Orientation now, that's good news right?) and this evening I'm off to Zanzibar, yo! As you can tell, I've also started using 'yo' a lot, at the ends of sentences, yo. Sorry I had to. Anyway, I went to One Small Seed magazine for my job shadowing and yesterday could not have been a better way to end off my experience, so to say. I mean, I don't want to brag or anything but yes, I did call Jax Panik to ask if he'd come to the launch of the first print edition of Picture This, the photography magazine, which I'm in too. Yes, that happened! Also, 'ending off the day/week' so to say with Giuseppe buying the whole team shots at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, was quite an experience to say the least. Besides other job shadowing girls going missing and various expletives being tossed around the air like confetti at a Greek wedding it was very, very cool! And, to sound suuuper corny and lame, I would just like to say that I did in fact learn a lot. I was told that I'm probably too shy for this field of work, my shy habits also being something I know about all too well, but I'm okay with it because if I see how far I've come in the confidence department, I'm doing okay.
Lastly, this experience got me all fired up and inspired, I suppose, to do more with what I have. Meaning, a lot of new and exciting (I hope) feature-y thingys are coming! So stay posted, yo! This 'yo' thing, aaaah, it's staring to annoy me now! Haha.

So it would only be fitting if I signed off this post like I signed off all my phone calls I had to do when calling to invite people to the Picture This launch,
'Thank you so much for your time, I hope you have a FABULOUS day further! Goodbye!'

teenage wasteland

'what ye gonna do with your life?'

// 'teenage wasteland' is a new initiative started by me, that my friends have subconsciously been involved in too haha. This is a new series of works, if you will, that follows the lives of adolescent life in Cape Town and beyond all borders. Contradictory to its name, 'teenage wasteland' is to prove how our generation is exactly not that, wasted. Obviously wasted can have a double meaning, but the one we're going for is the 'we-aint-gonna-sit-back-and-watch-life-happen-to-us!' one, you know? If it were the wasted in the hangover, happy-hour-gone-bad, kinda way it would make no sense, you can fill in the gaps on that one. Anyway, more of this to come soon, also a page devoted solely to 'teenage wasteland' will go up in a short while on the right hand side of the page, so keep a look out for that.

This shoot's subject is the lovely Mia le Roux. //
