THE PETER SELLERS EFFECT

▲▼
Ever seen 'The Party' starring the wonderfully talented chameleon Peter Sellers? Few have, but it's a great classic! If you have seen it, the title and the use of birds in these photographs seem to go hand-in-hand.

Oh, by the way, the birds used in these pictures is actually a huge mural-style painting painted by my dear friend Michal Kruger. I have a feeling he'll be needing them back soon and so I've taken a couple of pictures of them now before they go - I love anything with birds but this is really truly spectacular!

Here is a short clip of the 'birdie num num' scene in The Party - watch the whole film sometime, it's really quite hilarious :)

"SINGING THAT OLD SWEET SONG WHEN THAT RED ROBIN COMES BOB-BOB-BOBBING ALONG"

 ▲▼
Had a lovely day - and more importantly, a wonderful shoot - with The Red Robins on Friday afternoon. The "LUH-LY" Dante styled the event and I, of course, did the shoot-shooting.
Here are just a few snaps of the beautiful Roxy, Adam, Matthew and Dijahn (who I met for the very first time on Friday even though he maintains we've met before, haha) If you think they look cool, that's just the beginning - visit their twitter page here and their facebook group here to keep updated on performance dates and just general awesomeness.
More to follow soon!

So yesterday I took the 'Paper Jet' for a wee spin on down to Franschoek to visit my dad and company. Sounds awfully private school, but we visited some gardens as part of the 2011 Open Gardens Franschoek which was, surprisingly, very lovely indeed. Hope everyone's weekend was a blast, :)

HOWLIN' FOR YOU

▲▼
Ah, 'Howlin' For You' by The Black Keys is the very first song on my very first 'drive-by mix(x)' - so amped! Went for my first (a lot of 'firsts' today!) Thug Life drive-by today with my El. Suburban Knights hit it up well up in the suburbs, ending it off with some cola drinking at Mystics and some tea-buying at Spar. AH YEAH. Anyway, all was filmed, so a wee short film of the awesomeness will be airing soon!

Pictured second is me in my signed shirt from school. Got some lovely messages - thanks all! I particularly like Chris C's message addressed to a certain 'beautiful girl' and Chris T's depiction of my hairstyle - classic.

Have a lovely evening kids - stay young, beautiful and stupid :)

WDC2014!

Cape Town is officially the coolest city around! Well done to the city of Cape Town, it's inhabitants and, of course, all of the Mother City's creative thinkers and artistic souls.

Here are some more film snaps taken rather recently - hope they are to your liking!

I've taken to some much needed Spring-cleaning and the only thing that has come of it thus far is the resounding question: Why is it that I own so much shit? Good Lord. Anyway, I'm off to go tend to that business. Hoping for a Thug Life drive-by later this afternoon, so a warning that a Miss. Jones will be on the roads. Have a fantastic day and once again, well done to the Mother City!

BOX CITY

 ▲▼
Hey Universe,
Definitely the most interesting 24 hours of my life. Starting yesterday morning before the Valedictory service and ending this morning, after our camping antics at Ant's farm last night.

I'm the proud winner of the 'This isn't my Century' award from last night's Matric Committee Awards. Although most of them were rather inappropriate (in a good way, of course), Cameron's takes the cake as it was sneakily hinted at me.

So astronomically tired - I think I've gotten about ten hours of sleep in total over the last three days. I'm not doing spectacularly well, as one could imagine! I'm off for a wee snooze - will post tomorrow hopefully, some film shots from Daisies, Drama recital, Valedictory and afterparty (yaaaay!)

I WANT YOU

▲▼
Aren't these beautiful?
I really wouldn't mind getting me some of them! These are all from the Emilio Pucci Spring Summer 2012 Collection. I stumbled across these pieces on Fashion TV first, and then, after some intense Googling, I found these pictures and decided to share them with ye. AAAH, Style Rookie moment - I'm sorry! For more amazingness, click here.

It's the eve of my Valedictory and I'm embarrassingly excited to get high school over and done with! Anyway, have a wonderful Friday - keep safe!

STARS UNDER THE WATER

▲▼
Bitches would not believe what I did last night!
I had my final drama practical performance last night and I'm proud to say it went off seemingly smooth. I - after rocking probably the two most awkward lines drama has ever seen - am incredibly happy it's all done and dusted and I appear to be just one teeny tiny step closer to wrapping this high school thing up! The extent of my gladness is so great that words couldn't possibly yield the matter.

In other tidings of late;
If I hear another matric emotionally proclaiming how much they'll miss school along with a 'Forever Young' Bob Dylan tribute I'm going to barf. That is all.

FAUX WITCH

▲▼
Terrifically busy weekend that has left me spectacularly exhausted - all in time for my big drama recital tomorrow evening. PERFECT.

I can't complain though - I actually did have a wonderful weekend. Started off with the institution that is the Mystics 'Nightmare Before Christmas' Halloween party on Friday and ended off with a surprisingly fun 40th birthday party last night. In between all the mucking about, wine drinking and cat-dressing up'ing, my nerves have proven raw after all the drama practical rehearsing.

Seeing that October is the month for all things spooky, odd and bizarre I've (aptly) named these pictures 'Faux Witch'. We all know I love a good dress-up, and ten or so years ago I wasn't much different:

<--- That sexy thang next to me would be no other but El'cat - WE'RE ONE SEXY DUO (even when we were six)

Anyway, I met the talented Andrew Brauteseth of guywithcamera last night, who, firstly, stole one of my amazing quotes and secondly, made me dance like a mad thing all night - my feet curse you and your wily ways.

Enjoy your Sunday evening - all the best for the upcoming week! Loves,x

HATERZ

Upon a little research I happened by this yesterday afternoon, I discovered some excellent significances of the bluebird. The image on the right is, of course, a bluebird, a somewhat mythical and enchanting little thing.

More importantly though, is the apparent significance of a dead bluebird. This may sound a little off kilter and I am well aware the week has just begun, but hear this out. "In magical symbolism...A dead bluebird is a symbol of disillusionment, of the loss of innocence, and of transformation from the younger and naive to the older and wiser." I agree scores with this and seem to find it incrediby apt given the past week's events. It's been a rough one that has made me want to say (on more than one occasion) a resounding: "rough rhymes, tough times". I realise that, in this context, this simple statement makes limited sense. However difficult the last few days have been I comprehend that a little shift should occur and therefore I say: "c'est la vie". Which - for all you gits who do not enjoy the tasty treats the French have to offer the dry and dull Englishmen - means: "such is life". I am therefore now applying 'The Power of 'Pish-Posh'" to my life - a much needed addition, this Miss. Jones is just too sensitive!

Simply put (and with want of better words),
I HATE THEM HATERS
For realz!
My beliefs as well as my complete and utter hatred for prejudice have been confirmed in a big way recently. This sounds so cliched but I really do mean it one hundred percent. I really cannot (and will not) fraternise with unjust and unfair people. As like any old body I've been disillusioned here and there, but I'm posting this post, releasing this into the universe, hoping you all will take what you say into account and realise that there are always (mostly always anyway) people behind those cruel words uttered. Easier said than done, I know (history clearly proves this), but still, if it is at all possible we should just effing love each other. But, like I mentioned before; 'such is life' - this isn't a reflection on me and my beliefs and morals but instead just highlighting the other person's lack of respect for anyone that does not fit their convoluted idea of a 'descent' person. I won't say much more, but I will say this: karma's a bitch.

I find it incredibly apt that at my primary school reunion yesterday morning I returned to my first grade classroom where my teacher was, and still is, widely revered for her amazing face painting skills. I was dotted here and there, but I'd like to think my painted face resembled very much the so-called 'star' of this post: the bluebird :)

BURGUNDY

Watched a wonderful film (The Seventh Seal by Ingmar Bergman) last night at 5 on Ryneveld hosted by Cinemuse, a fantastic initiative dedicated to showing classic and art films in eccentrically dressed little movie theatres scattered around old Stellenbosch town. If you haven't yet made a turn and watched a film at one of these quaint movie houses, do so! You won't regret it - go on, be that self-proclaimed 'artiste' you so wish to be. Click here for Cinemuse's website!

In other news, if you haven't bought your Rocking the Daisies ticket yet, get to it, son! Please please. I would love to see you all out in 'Miss. Jones full force'.
